Reassess Attitude to Investment Risk During Coronavirus

Published / Last Updated on 29/06/2020

The stock market indices that we track fell by 33% in March on average from their ‘year highs’ in February.

They then rebounded by 30% just a few weeks later.

If you had been fully invested in stock markets and not in a balanced portfolio at the time you would have seen significant falls in value and then, equally the same recovery in value.

  • How did that make you feel?
  • Did it make you nervous and worried for the future?
  • Are you still worried?
  • Did you miss out on the recovery?
  • Will it happen again?

Should you increase or decrease your risk exposure on your short term (1-5 years) investments, your medium term (5 -10 years) investments and your longer term (10 years +) investments?

Is it time to reassess your attitude towards risk and tolerance to investment losses?
