Lasting Powers of Attorney During Coronavirus Lockdown

Published / Last Updated on 12/04/2020

It makes sense in this turbulent and worrying time to make provision for your financial or health affairs via Lasting Powers of Attorney should you become either physically or mentally incapacitated.

There are two types of Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), one for health and one for wealth.

  • You can either contact us to help with your LPAs or you can create an account online with gov.uk and draft your own.
  • You will still need to download the pdf document for checking, signatures and certificate provider signatures, such as ourselves.
  • You will still need to post to the Office for the Public Guardian (OPG).
  • You will still need to pay the OPG fee to register your LPA unless you are on benefits and able to secure a reduction or nil fee.
  • Use your lock down period to actively put your finances in a better position than they were before.

Register to set up LPAs on www.gov.uk.
