There are new rules from 1st March 2020 in South Africa for nationals that have left and are 'tax emigrated' overseas e.g. UK tax resident. The new rules mean that if you have not officialy registered with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), having settled all SA tax liabilities and paid an 'exit fee' to become non-ordinarily resident, you are not officially considered 'Finance Emigrated' and may still be liable to SA tax on Worldwide income.
