The Treasury has also launched a tool for you to check whether and what types of benefit you, your family or a friend may be entitled.  It then presents you with a list, with prompts and links to check each benefit in turn.

Check benefits and financial support you can get

  • Where do you live?
  • Are you State Pension age or over?
  • Are you in paid work?
  • Do you have a disability or health condition?  Does your disability or health condition affect how much you can work?
  • Are you caring for someone with a disability or health condition for at least 35 hours a week?
  • Do you have children living with you?  How old are the children who live with you?  Do any children living with you have a disability?
  • How much money, savings and investments do you have (excluding the home you live in)?

You may be entitled to the following benefits

  • Access to Work
  • Universal Credit
  • Tax-free childcare
  • Free childcare for 2-year-olds
  • Carer’s Allowance
  • Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for children
