Climate change, conservation, corporate governance, impact on the environment and government actions on UK carbon neutral targets will create over 2 million 'green collar' jobs and a £170bn economy in the UK.

A carbon credit is a generic term for any tradeable certificate or permit representing the right to emit one tonne of carbon dioxide or the equivalent amount of other greenhouse gases.

Some investors are already active in carbon credit certificate trading.

This is a highly focused and specialised investment sector that is likely to grow but given its infancy is high risk and perhaps suitable for sophisticated investors or those with experience in the sector.
