Government Funded Childcare Applications Open for 9mth Olds

In April 2024, government funded childcare support started for eligible working parents for 2-year-olds.
This means that the current position for government funded childcare is:
- 30 hours government funded childcare for eligible working parents for 3–4 year-olds.
- 15 hours government funded childcare for eligible working parents for 2–3 year-olds.
Starting on 31st August i.e. for childcare from September 2024 onwards:
- Increase from 15 to 30 hours government funded childcare for eligible working parents for 2–3 year-olds to match 3–4 year olds.
- New 15 hours government funded childcare for eligible working parents for 9 month-olds to 2 year-olds.
Applications for the new support for 9 month-olds have now started.
Both you and your chosen childcare provider can now make applications for this from 12 May 2024. If you have a baby and you are planning to look for childcare to return back to work, you should start searching for your preferred childcare provider and make that application.
