Family Carer Insurance

Published / Last Updated on 03/07/2019

What if you have to give up work to look after a loved one or friend?  What cover, if any, do you have at work?

Could you survive on state benefit Carer's Allowance?

Family Carer's Income Insurance:  Provides replacement income if you are forced to give up work to look after loved ones.

Usually covers: giving up work to look after your spouse, civil partner, children, step-children, adopted children and sometimes where you are a guardian for a child.

Does not usually cover: giving up work to care for parents, 'common law' partner, friends or neighbours.

Check with your employer about what cover, if any, you have and contact us about income protection insurance and family carer’s benefit.
