The Financial Strength of Banks

Banks are required to have deep capital reserves to be able to trade.  The regulator will also issue stress tests to test if banks can cope if there is another economic downturn, interest rates go up and if the housing market crashed by over 30%.  There is also the financial compensation scheme which covers you for up to £85,000.  The British government has committed to not letting any British bank collapse.
