Stroud Swindon - Coventry Merger Confirmed

The merger between Stroud & Swindon and Coventry Building Societies has been confirmed. The merger is likely to go ahead on 1 September 2010, with members able to vote on the merger at a meeting on 16 June.
The merged society will have assets of over £21bn, 91 branches across the Midlands and south west of England and around 1.5m members.
Stroud & Swindon’s name will be retained and operated as a distinct brand, with no planned redundancies for branch staff.
