The Inland Revenue has released clarification in its Employment Status manuals, designed to make it easier for their staff to determine those falling into the IR35 category.
The clarification came about following the Professional Contractors Group taking the Inland Revenue to court, stating that IR35 discriminated against smaller companies.
One of the main changes is the inclusion that even though a contractor may only work for one client, it does not guarantee they fall within IR35 legislation.
