Retirement _ A Million Miles Away

The gaps for people saving towards retirement is again in the news.  This time, Howard Davies the chairman of the industry regulator, the Financial Services Authority has been speaking about it.

The FSA is about to release research showing people massively underestimate what they think they need to save to have retirement income of 50% of their current income.  Mr Davies said "they are a million miles away".

People have always underestimated what they need to save for a comfortable retirement but this has been compounded by low inflation and low investment returns.
