FTSE Closes Ninth-Month High

Shares have closed last night at their highest level for almost nine months as a result of good corporate results boosting confidence.

FTSE 100 finished up nearly 4% in the last two days trading at 4,682 - its highest close since October.

This comes on the back of significant rises in markets across the globe and continues a concerted rise over the last three weeks despite a minor fall back last week.

The French Cac 40 rose 1.5% in addition to the German Dax’s 1.78% yesterday alone on the back of continued strong recoveries in the US across all sectors.

In addition, the Pound continued to strengthen against both Euro and US Dollar currencies with the Pound hitting another nine month high against the dollar of $1.70.
