First Home Discount Scheme - 30% discount of the price of a new homes for locals in an area - will go Nationwide.
Available for Military veterans and key workers such as nurses, police officers and firefighters.
30% purchase prices discount means 30% lower deposit - meaning more affordable - but when sell - that same discount is passed on to the next veterans and key workers such as nurses, police officers and firefighters in perpetuity.
Or is this a away for government to shift/encourage new housing stock, and a few years down the line to then allow sales to non-veteran so that the government secures the 30% profit on a full sale? Got to be tempting!!!
