We all get spam texts and fraudulent emails almost everyday trying to get us to part with our money or trick us into giving our security information out.
5 Simple Tips to Spot Email Fraud:
- Mouse over the email address sent from – check that it is a real one
- Mouse over the ‘Sent to’ email address – is it you or is it a fake global email
- Check the grammar, use of English language, spelling, words used, typing, full stops, commas and spacing. If the grammar looks poor, it probably is fake.
- Mouse over any links that the email asks you to click through to.
- If in doubt, contact the alleged sender via a different means and then delete the email.
