Long-term Unemployed Compulsory Work

by Ashley Clark, Director

Proposals will be set out by Government forcing people who have been long term unemployed to work for their benefits.

The plans are simple.  Those that have been unemployed for 10 years or longer will be required to do 30 hours “community service” such as gardening; graffiti clean up and litter duties.

Jobseekers allowance is currently £65 per week and with housing, dental, council tax, school meals and other benefits, amount to literally thousands of pounds.

The Government’s aim is for people who are locked in spiral of not even bothering to get up some days, to given back some self-respect, even work experience that may motivate and assist to get a job.

Some are against it, we have to say that we are for he changes.  Nobody in society should receive free money, free housing, free health care and free food save those that really need it i.e.  disabled and children in care.  Even certain disabled people are able to contribute, manning phone lines or web help chat lines and the like.

If we pull together, Britain can become again the best place on the planet to live and the envy of others.
