Standard _ Critical Illness Premiums Up

Published / Last Updated on 05/02/2003

Standard Life is the latest insurance company to announce increases to its critical illness rates.  Over the last few months a number of companies have promised increases to new policies, citing advancements in medical science as the reason.  They also claimed that due to these advances predicting claims under critical illness polices was becoming increasingly hard to predict.

Other companies to increase rates have been Skandia, Legal & General and Scottish Equitable.   Although there are certain core conditions that must be covered by a critical illness policy, some offer wider ranging cover than others.  A comparison is therefore sensible.
