Following suggestions from an industry publication, Halifax is investigating whether or not its advisers are selling mortgage payment protection insurance to customers unknowingly.
Apparently, the cost of the mortgage payment protection insurance is included with customers monthly payments and they may not be aware of it.
A press officer for Halifax said that there have been odd cases. He also said that Halifax were looking into matters immediately, stating "it might be individual customers have slipped through the net, or it might be adviser shortcomings".
