Liberal Democrats
The Liberal Democrats have conducted research on the service the National Health Service provides out-of-hours.
They have discovered that nearly half of the Primary Care Trusts surveyed are failing to answer the telephone quickly enough and the criteria of making clinical assessment on the telephone is not being met. They also claim that face-to-face consultations were an area for improvement.
Our view
Out-of-hours care deals with potential life and death situations everyday and therefore providing the correct level of service is vital.
