Don't Leave Debt Too Late

Published / Last Updated on 08/11/2002

No-one likes to be in debt and everyone knows that sticking your head in the sand does nothing to help.  Recent research from RSGB showed that different people view debt in different ways and only some triggers will force action.  For example, 26% of people who responded to the survey would become concerned if they missed repayments.  20% of people worry when they have borrowed more than they earn.  19% of people worry about being unable to provide for their family and 7% would only be concerned if their home was repossessed.  As most people know, getting into debt is easy but paying it off is hard.  The simple solution is to watch what you spend and keep debts as low as possible.  That way, the debt is unlikely to rise to an out of control level.  If you have debt problems, there are many organisations that can give you practical help without judging you.  If you would like details, just let us know.
