Prudential AIA Deal £377m Loss

Insurance giant Prudential has confirmed figures that is lost £377m on the £23bn failed takeover deal to buy AIA, the Asian insurance arm of bailed out US insurance group AIG.

The loss is around £75m less than Prudential had predicted.  

At the same time, Prudential announced half profits being up 19% to £845m from £711m for the same period last year.
