Valuable Work From A Housewife

Published / Last Updated on 23/04/2002

According to the latest figures from Legal & General, housewives spend 63 hours a week, on average, doing unpaid housework.

Based on Legal & General's figures, you would have to pay out £22,355 per year to get someone else to do the work.  But how many housewives are insured, just in case they are not able to do the chores - not that many!

Although you may not think about it, life insurance is available for housewives and the costs come in fairly cheaply, depending on the insured's age, the length of time the policy will run and how much cover is required.
