Stock Market _ Women Do Not Invest

If women were given an investment of £1,000 over 10 years, 48% of them would seek the safety of a building society for their funds, according to findings from Comdirect, a European stockbroker.  

The survey was conducted from 1000 people in the UK and found only 30% of men would have preferred to invest with building societies.  28% of men would prefer to invest in the stock market compared to only 15% of women.  

There are also geographical trends - London showed a 42% preference to invest with building societies, compared to 32% in the south.
