Standard Directors Rubbing It In

Published / Last Updated on 19/02/2003

Standard Life is not really helping itself at the moment.  After the recent announcement of cutting bonuses down to size for policyholders they seem to have been hiked for directors of the company.

Standard Life's annual report is due out at the end of the month and bonuses for the executive directors will be announced then.  Whilst exact figures are not known, if speculation in the industry is to be believed the bonuses could mean payments of around £1m each!

In addition to this news, it is believed that another demutualisation attack is underway for the insurer. Despite raising the number of signatures required from 50 to 1000 to allow a demutualisation campaign, it seems to be full steam ahead.
