According to Scottish Life, they have been asked to review their brand and structure of the business by their parent company, Royal London.
This type of request is becoming more and more common amongst insurance companies and their subsidiaries.
With the World stock markets the way they are, all businesses must justify their value for money. Royal London will apparently consider Scottish Life's reactions and decide on restructuring to improve the efficiency of the business.
There has been speculation that Royal London intends to do away with the Scottish Life brand but this has not yet been substantiated.
