Stop Working _ Take A Break

Published / Last Updated on 27/11/2007

Legal and General

A recent report by Legal and General called ‘Health Uncovered’ - has found that nearly a quarter of full-time workers do not take a break during the working day.  The report also found that 7 per cent of workers fail to take a holiday, and that 20 per cent of workers are not happy with their work/life balance.

Senior management are most likely to work through the day without taking a break as 20 percent of them admitted this is what they do.

Legal & General is concerned that as people become absorbed in their work and not take a break in the day, they could be damaging their health.

Our view

We recommend that we all make an effort to take a break, go for a walk or read a magazine, it would have a benefit to all our health and well-being, and ultimately, the good of our careers.
