Home Information Packs HIPs _ Clumsy

Published / Last Updated on 11/11/2007

The Conservative Party is proposing to scrap Home Information Packs as they see them as being ‘clumsy and ineffective’.

The Conservatives believe that the Government ignored warnings from the industry about the packs and that there are better ways to speed up the house buying process.

Our view

The basic idea behind HIPs is a good one, to speed up the home buying process, the problem, as ever, has been the shambles in planning to get then up and running.  We hope they are not scrapped, but are streamlined.
