Taff Associates have been commissioned by Customs and Excise to identify problems small businesses have when dealing with the department. The survey will cover matters such as the VAT system and its impact on small businesses and is due to be completed by the end of 2002.
Taff is conducting interviews with directors and owners of businesses from below the VAT threshold up to a turnover of £1million. Customs and Excise plan to use the survey to make the VAT system more customer friendly.
Let’s hope that other Government departments take the hint and try the same approach!
