Since General Insurance regulations came into force almost a year ago, a new report shows that brokers are happier with the service that they are receiving, but providers are finding that the regulation is more difficult. The research found that 22% of insurers are most worried about training and competence, 19% said that the "suitability of advice" caused them the most discomfort, while one in six stated that "treating customers fairly" caused them to worry. But improvements have been recorded in the overall levels of broker satisfaction since the regulation came in.
One of the main worries for providers is that regulation costs have increased, both before the regulation came into force and afterwards.
