Welfare Face Spending Cuts.
Chancellor George Osborne spoke of £25bn more in spending cuts, most of which applied to the welfare budget. The chancellor has said of what lies ahead and that the job was “not even half done”.
The plans for spending cuts to the welfare budget would include cutting the housing benefit for under 25’s and restricting council housing for those earning over £65,000 per annum.
However the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg does not agree with the proposals of cutting the welfare budget. Mr Clegg has a different plan for the Lib Dem’s, this was to balance the books which included the wealthy paying more tax, this included the much discussed mansion tax.
Britain is still not out of the water yet as debt is still high and despite recent months seeing confidence and growth on the rise, years of austerity is still needed.
