Tough Benefit Reforms Start Today
Employment and Work Allowance benefits designed to reduce numbers of people claiming benefits start today.
There are 2.6 million people claiming incapacity benefits in the UK and the Government wishes to reduce these numbers to nearer the 1 million mark. The Government believes that there are people who genuinely need help but there are also those that could contribute to society.
People who claim unemployment or incapacity benefits will have their benefits cut if they do not attend interviews with employment advisers. The same stands for single parent families.
As you can well appreciate many disabled lobby groups are concerned with the move but we suggest it may mean bigger benefits for the those that need it and for those that perhaps do not, and
Training
We suggest there should be a mass campaign and training operation to get many people contributing to society.
Our pavements are filthy, our elderly need care or the shopping doing, our youth have no guidance, our councils need more staff to answer phones in call centres, our emergency services the same.
Our workers need crèches and after-school clubs which could so easily be run, with training, by lone parents. The government has set a target of having 70% of single parents in employment by 2010.
There is no reason why all citizens of this country should not contribute instead of holding their hands out and moaning about injustice. Those that can contribute should and those that cannot should be looked after.
