IMF Lends Ukraine $16.5bn

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has stepped in with a $16.5bn loan package to instil confidence in a shaky banking system.

This follows a $2bn loan by the IMF to Iceland last week after Iceland had also agreed a loan deal with the UK with the British Tax payer initially covering the losses of the British Investors with capital guarantees.
