No Tax On Advice At Work

The Inland Revenue has confirmrf that plans, originally announced in April's budget, to tax financial advice on retirement at work as a benefit in kind, will now not be charged on pension advice or advice to an employee.

This is provided that the cost of the information given does not exceed £150, or relate to any other topic.

Our view

A welcome move, it would have been extremely harsh.  This opens the way for many employers to consider alternative benefits for their staff.
