Minimum Wage Increase On Hold

Published / Last Updated on 27/12/2004

The new minimum wage of £5 per hour has been accepted by the Confederation of British Industry, but has been put on hold until 2006.

The most recent increase of £4.85 was brought in on 1st October 2004.

Our view

Minimum wage is a difficult item.  Employees expect to be paid but likewise, employers expect to receive good value for their money.
