Expert Advice When Made Redundant _ How To Claim Redundancy Pay

How to claim redundancy pay

Your employer will pay your redundancy payment when you leave or shortly after.

This means that you do not actually need to make a claim.

You should make a claim if:

  • Your employer does not make a payment to you
  • Your employer says that you are not entitled to a payment and you think that you are

To make a claim you should (within six months of your redundancy) write to your employer asking for a payment and/or take your case to an employment Tribunal.
