Half of Cuts Not Implemented.
A think tank has said that despite an improving economy less than half of the planned spending cuts had been implemented. More than 60% of spending cuts are still to come.
Extra spending and demand on the NHS are just some of the reasons behind the UK needing more spending cuts. The pressure on the NHS is not thought to ease either, the population is growing and predictions have shown that UK population is set to grow by 3.5m between 2010 and 2018.
The government have already committed to planned spending cuts of around £6 billion a year post 2015-16.
The Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS) also expects the UK economy to growth 2.4% this year. They also say that there is no evidence of a housing bubble at the current time.
