Expert Advice When Made Redundant _ What happens if you or your employer die?

Published / Last Updated on 13/12/2007

What happens if you or your employer dies?

If the business that you are employed by can no longer trade because your employer has died, a redundancy payment will need to be made to you.

This will be provided by your employer's personal representatives.

If, after your employer has died, the business is carried on by the personal representative and you are offered a job within eight weeks, you will not be entitled to receive a redundancy payment.

If you die and have not received your redundancy payment, it will be paid to your personal representatives.
