NHS Dentists are more difficult to find.
Since the implementation of reforms in April 2006, official figures have revealed that more than a quarter of a million people across England have lost access to an NHS dentist.
In the 24 months up to 30 June 2007, The Information Centre showed that 27,879,000 patients were seen by an NHS dentist in England, compared to 28,145,000 in the 24 months up to 31 March 2006, a reduction of 266,000 patients.
Our view
This is an absolute travesty. Why should we all pay the same in National Insurance contributions and not have access to the same services?
