Working Families Taxes On The Up

Published / Last Updated on 28/04/2006

New figures from the Organisation of Economics Co-operation and Development (OECD) has shown that the tax burden on working families in the UK has risen over the past four years, as it fell in most of Europe.  But the study found that the amount of tax taken was still much lower than in Germany and France.

Figures have shown that in the UK, a married couple with one wage earner and two children paid 27.1% of their household income in tax last year, compared with 24.9% in 2001. The Treasury have said that 'the net tax burden on all families with children in the UK has fallen, and was significantly below those in other larger European economies'.

Yes, thanks alot Gordon B, if you really think people in this country are that 'thick' to not realise how heaviliy you are taxing us all then you are mistaken.

Most honest hard working people are taxed to the hilt in both life, old age and death!
