UK Exit EU will Hurt Japan Jobs.

The Japanese government has hinted that if the UK were to leave the EU thousands of jobs at Japanese firms could be jeopardised. The claim was that Japanese firms were attracted to the UK because to allowed a way into the European market.

This comes has the Prime Minister David Cameron promises a referendum on the UK’s EU membership if the Tory government wins that next election.

Our View

Given that the UK's biggest trading partner is the EU, we believe that an EU exit will damage Britain and of course have a knock on effect with countries that have large interests in the UK. including Japan, China and the US.

At a time when both the US and China are looking to negotiate free trade agreements with the EU, we cannot see the UK leaving.  Why would the UK give up the potential of free trade into the World's two biggest economies as well as the combined largest free trade area on the planet i.e. the EU, which collectively dwarfes the US and China.

It will not happen and yes, we agree it would damage Japanese jobs as well as UK jobs.  What it will do though is give the UK perhaps some power to devolutionise some powers away from the EU and put it back in control of sovereign nations.
