Scottish Equitable is joining with Red Arc Assurance for practical information and emotional support for clients with grouped/company critical illness cover policies at point of claim. They are the first provider to offer Red Arc services on grouped/company critical illness cover since Swiss Life closed to new business in 2003.
Red Arc provides services such as counselling and therapy for critical illness policyholders. Initially, Scottish Equitable will be offering Red Arc services to new and existing customers on 15 of the company's main policies. The service will be available to all of the companys' clients from early next year.
Our view
This is commendable although we wonder how much is for gain. Are providers, whilst offering help, also seeking to invest proceeds from a claim or do they refer on to an Independent Financial Adviser?
