According to new research from Portman Building Society, up to 89% of British taxpayers are missing out on tax-free interest. The study found that only around 5.17 million, or 11% of the adult population have taken out a cash-isa, with only a few months to go before the end of the tax year. The provider estimates that people are missing out on around £3.8 billion in tax-free interest.
