The Government has admitted that it needs to address rising housing demand or first-time buyers will be priced out of the market.
In the House of Commons recently, a Housing Minister said that her department needed to address supply concerns, commenting that 'If we do not respond to rising house demand, we will see first-time buyers priced out of the market, rising overcrowding and pressures on recruitment for businesses and public services, which is why we support the provision of new homes'.
Our view
Housing is becoming an issue in the UK as more people live apart, more people own second homes and youngsters struggle to get on the property ladder. We believe that Government are doing little to help those at the lower end of the property market.
