Research by propertyfinder.com has found that who lives next door is just as important as deciding where to live and how much to pay when buying a house. The amount of noise neighbours make can make the difference between a quick sale and a prolonged process, and can have an affect on the price that a seller can achieve. Noisy sex was cited by one-fifth of respondents as the most hated noise made by neighbours in a survey that asked people to choose the best and worst types of neighbours from a range of categories. 90% of people voted squatters as the worst, with students a close second with 63%. Families with teenagers came third, with people preferring not to hear arguments and slamming doors, while young flat-sharers came forth as they are thought to have lifestyles that can be disruptive to their neighbours. The favourites were childless couples, pensioners and singles.

Thin walls on newly built semis' are not in order! Did you know you are not allowed to be untruthful about your neighbours? In one case a few years ago, the seller did not tell the buyer about some rather unpleasant neighbours and was then forced to take the house back!
