Mortgage Lending Down 30%

Figures released by the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) have shown that lending is down to its lowest levels since 2002 and that gross mortgage lending in 2008 fell by 30%.

Some estate agents and surveyors though are reporting more positive results at the lower end of the property market as prices fall to match earnings helping people onto the property ladder.
