Interest Rates Held Yet Again.
The Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has yet again today left interest rates on hold at 0.5%.
Rates have now been frozen for nearly two and a half years - the longest period of inertia since World War Two and we suggest that the combination of the risk of recession together with the governments ‘stealth’ desire to down value public sector debt with ongoing inflation are the driving forces.
Expect more of the same for the next few months.
