Bank of England Interest Rates Held for 23rd Month.

The Bank of England (BoE) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) has met this morning and decided to keep interest rates at 0.5 per cent for the 23rd month in a row.

The MPC also voted to maintain the quatitative easing position at £200 bn.

Rates have been the same since March 2009 amid calls from many that rates should rose to curb inflation.

Even Labour's Shadow Committee suggested this month that they would raise rates by 1% although should we really believe the spin.

This move again suggests that the economy is being managed to reinforce inflation to devalue the long term debt.  See our Winter of Discontent 2 Article.
