Interest Rates Held 38th Consecutive Month.

The Bank of England's monetary policy committee has voted to hold the base rate at 0.5% for the 38th consecutive month and to keep its programme of quantitative easing at £325bn.

The base rate was cut to 0.5% in March 2009, the same day the Bank of England initiated a programme of QE worth £75bn.
