Interest Rates 0.5% 315 Year Low
The Bank of England has cut base interest rates for the sixth consecutive month to just 0.5%.
This is the lowest rate offered by the Bank of England since its formation 315 years ago in 1694.
The cut once was expected and with the Bank of England now also moving to quantitative easing, institutions selling assets should have grater money supply to increase their liquidity and therefore borrowing.
