House Prices Down 2.3 per cent.
According to the latest figures by the Land Registry, annual property prices fell 2.3 per cent in March. The average house price in England and Wales in March was £160,996. The only region which experienced a monthly rise was the North West with an increase of 0.7 per cent.
The Land Registry figures also showed that the number of completed house sales in England and Wales in January rose by 2 per cent to 36,425 from 35,809 in January 2010 and the number of properties sold in England and Wales for over £1m increased by 6 per cent between January 2010 and January 2011.
