Farmland Value Trebles 10 Years.

The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has released figures showing that farmland has trebled in value since 2004 with the average price of an acre now £7,440 when it was just £2,400 per acre.

6 Reasons For Farmland Price Increases

Demand for land in the UK has always been high given that we are an island.

Commercially, there is greater demand for food.

Leisure wise, more people want land for horses and animals.

Rents for farmland are still healthy compared to the outlay.

Planning wise, local authorities have been instructed by Government to loosen planning permission regulations.

Pension funds are allowed to invest in agricultural land and property when they cannot invest in residential property.

Tax wise, agricultural land and property are free of inheritance tax under agricultural property relief.
